LV Improves its Critical Illness Cover for Breast Cancer

LV now cover for early forms of breast cancer - covering both women and men.

In 2009, 48,417 women and 371 men were diagnosed with
Breast Cancer[1]

Cancer payments now account for over 60% of all the CI claims LV pay. And this has given their underwriters, claims and product team vast insight and experience in this particular illness.

This expertise is what has driven LV to replace their mastectomy cover with DCIS (ductal carcinoma in-situ). Mastectomy is only one form of treatment for DCIS, but LV now also cover for less severe treatments.

And if the Cancer progresses or moves into the other breast, you may also be able to make a claim against our full payment Cancer ABI+ plus definition. So for example;

Mrs. Smith has Critical Illness cover of £150,000 and in July 2012 is diagnosed with DCIS. She undergoes a lumpectomy and receives an additional partial payment. In February 2013, the Cancer returns to the other breast as a malignant tumor.
